야곱 130세, 요셉 40세
애굽 왕 바로는 꿈을 두 번 꾸었습니다(창 41:1-7). 먼저 아름답고 살진 일곱 암소가 나타나고 후에 흉악하고 파리한 일곱 암소가 나타나는데, 뒤에 나타난 흉악하고 파리한 소가 그 아름답고 살진 일곱 암소를 먹어 버렸습니다.
그 후에 다시 잠이 들어 꿈을 꾸니, 이번에는 한 줄기에 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭이 나오고 이어서 세약하고 동풍에 마른 일곱 이삭이 나왔는데, 나중에 나온 세약하고 마른 일곱 이삭이 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭을 삼키는 꿈을 꾸었습니다. 꿈을 두 번 겹쳐 꾼 것은 하나님께서 이 일을 정하셨고 가까운 시간에 속히 이루실 것을 나타낸 것입니다(창 41:32).
애굽의 술객들 가운데는 아무도 이 꿈을 해석하는 자가 없었습니다. 그러나 요셉은 이 꿈을 해석하였습니다(창 41:24-36). 이 꿈에서 일곱 좋은 암소와 일곱 좋은 이삭은 먼저 7년 동안 큰 풍년이 있을 것을 계시한 것이며, 다음에 나온 파리하고 흉악한 일곱 암소나 마른 일곱 이삭은 7년 대풍년 후에 이어서 그보다 더 큰 7년 대흉년이 있을 것을 계시한 것이었습니다. 요셉의 꿈 해석대로 애굽의 역사에서는 실제로 이러한 일들이 일어났습니다.
말세의 징조들 가운데 하나는 기근과 흉년입니다(마 24:7, 막 13:8, 눅 21:11). 뿐만 아니라 말세지말에는 말씀의 기근 시대도 올 것입니다. 아모스 8:11-12에서 “주 여호와께서 가라사대 보라 날이 이를지라 내가 기근을 땅에 보내리니 양식이 없어 주림이 아니며 물이 없어 갈함이 아니요 여호와의 말씀을 듣지 못한 기갈이라 사람이 이 바다에서 저 바다까지, 북에서 동까지 비틀거리며 여호와의 말씀을 구하려고 달려 왕래하되 얻지 못하리니”라고 말씀하고 있습니다.
이러한 기근의 시대는 장차 성도들에게 임할 환난을 통해서 나타납니다(암 4:6-11). 환난 중에는 하나님의 말씀을 들을 수 없습니다. 그것은 환난의 때에 하나님의 말씀을 배우거나 가르치는 일이 금지되기 때문입니다.
요셉에게 7년 대흉년 전에 7년 대풍년을 계시하셨듯이, 마지막 때에도 말씀의 기근이 있기 전에 먼저 말씀의 풍년을 주실 것입니다(사 2:2-3, 미 4:1-2). 하나님의 말씀이 풍성하게 나올 때가 바로 ‘은혜 받을 만한 때’(고후 6:2)요, ‘여호와를 만날 만한 때’(사 55:6)입니다.
때는 점점 악해져 가지만, 우리는 세월을 아끼는 지혜를 가지고(엡 5:16), 살아 계신 하나님의 말씀으로 무장하여 말씀의 기근을 대비하는 슬기로운 성도가 되어야 할 것입니다.

Pharaoh, the Egyprian King at that time, had two dreams (Gen 41:1-7). In the first dream, there were seven sleek, fat cows, but then seven ugly, Gaunt cows appeared and devoured to seven sleek and fat cows. When he slept again and had a second dream, there were now seven ears of grain on a single stalk, plump and good. Then, seven ears, thin and scorched by the east wind, sprouted up after them, and these thin ears swallowed up the seven plump and full ears, Having two dreams like this meant tnat God planned it, and that it would be fulfilled (Gen 41:32).
However, none of the magicians or wise men in Egypt could interpret the meaning of this dream except for Joseph (Ge 41:24-36). The seven sleek and fat cows and seven plump ears prophesied seven years of plenty, while the seven lean and ugly cows and seven thin ears prophesied seven years of plenty. Historically, the events occurred according to Joseph's interpretation of the dreams.
Famines are among the signs of the end time (Matt 24:7; Mark 13:8; Luke 21:11), but the famine of the Word of God will also come. Amos 8:11-12 states, "'Behold, days are coming,' declares the Lord God, 'When I will send a famine on the land, not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, but rather for hearing tne words of the Lord, but they will not find it.'"
This period of famine is part of the tribulation that will com upon the believers in the last days (Amos 4:6-11). We will be unable to hear the Word of God during the times of tribulation because teaching and hearing the Word of God will be prohibited.
Just as God forewarned Joseph regarding the years of famine before the years of plenty, God will also give us years of plenty for the Word of God before the famine strikes (Isa 2:2-3; Mic 4:1-2). While the Word of God is abundant, it is "the acceptable time" (2 Cor 6:2) and the time when the Lord may be found (Isa 55:6). The times are becoming increasingly evil; we will need wisdom to make the most of our time (Eph 5:16) and the wisdom to prepare with the Word of God for the famine ahead.
