요셉의 역사 1 - 1. 하나님께서 요셉에게 주신 두 가지 꿈과 13년간의 시련 Ⅰ

이삭 167세, 야곱 107세, 요셉 17세

야곱은 90세(주전 1916년, 횃불 언약 166년째)에 라헬을 통해 아들 요셉을 얻었습니다. 요셉은 17세에 두 가지 꿈을 꾸었습니다. 요셉의 꿈은 보통 사람들이 잠자는 동안 꾸는 일반적인 꿈과 달리 계시적인 것이었습니다.

첫 번째 꿈은 곡식을 묶은 열한 개의 단이 요셉의 단에게 절하는 꿈이요, 두 번째 꿈은 해와 달과 별이 요셉에게 절하는 꿈이었습니다(창 37:6-11). 꿈을 두 번이나 꾼 것은 그 꿈이 확실히 하나님께서 계획하시고 이루실 꿈이었기 때문입니다.

이 두 가지 꿈에서 나오는 ‘절하더이다’(창 37:7, 9)는 히브리어로 ‘샤하’의 ‘히트파엘 형’으로서, 이것은 ‘자발적으로 꿇어 엎드리다’라는 뜻입니다.

절 받는 꿈은 예사로운 꿈이 아닙니다. 이것은 전적인 존경과 복종의 표시입니다. 어떤 사람이 인격, 사상, 행위 면에서 위대한 삶을 살았거나 아주 훌륭한 업적을 남겼을 때, 사람들은 누가 시키지 않아도 경외하는 마음으로 고개를 숙이거나 절을 하게 됩니다. 나라를 잘 다스리며 국민을 감동시키는 통치자에게 백성들은 진심 어린 마음으로 무릎을 꿇습니다. 또한 패자는 승자의 발 앞에 자발적으로 엎드립니다.

요셉의 꿈은 앞으로 열한 형제가 요셉에게 자발적으로 존경하고 복종하게 될 것을 의미합니다. 요셉이 형제들 가운데 장자라는 것입니다. 더 나아가 온 세계를 다스리는 통치자가 된다는 예고였습니다. 실제로 요셉은 국무총리가 된 다음에 애굽 온 백성이 엎드려 절하였으며(창 41:43), 기근을 맞아 양식을 구하러 온 형제들도 요셉에게 절을 하였으며(창 42:6, 43:26, 28, 44:14), 각국 백성도 양식을 사려고 애굽으로 들어와 요셉에게 이르렀으니(창 41:54-57), 이 꿈은 일차적으로 확실하게 이루어졌습니다.

The History of Joseph

Two Dreams that God Gave to Joseph and the 13 Years of Trial (Gen 37:; 39; 40),

Isaac's age, 167; Jacob's age, 107; Joseph's age, 17

Jacob had Joseph through Rachel at the age of 90 (1926 BC, 166th year of the covenant). Joseph had two dreams at the age of 17, but his dreams were different from the dreams of other people. His dreams were revelations. In the first dream, 11 bound sheaves bowed down to Joseph's sheaf. In the second dream, the sun, moon, and 11 stars bowed down to Joseph Gen 37:6-11). The fact that he had two such dreams indicates that it was not a coincidence, but something that God plans and will fulfill.

The Hebrew word for bowing (Gen 37:7, 9) that appears in the account of these two dreams is saha, a Hishtaphel form of hawa, referring to the act of bowing voluntarily. A dream about receiving a bow is not ordinary. The act of bowing symbolizes complete admiration and submission. People tend to bow to the ones they consider greatly superior in personality, beliefs, and/or achievements. People bow to the rulers who reign wisely and bring inspiration to the nation. Also, the defeated bows to his conqueror.

Joseph's dream meant that there would come a time when his brothers would voluntarily respect and obey him. It meant that Joseph was the firstborn among his brothers. Moreover, it foretold that he would become a world leader. All the Egyptians actually bowed down to him after he assumed the second-in-command position in Egypt (Gen 41:43). His brothers bowed down to him when they came to Egypt to obtain food (Gen 42:6; 43:26, 28; 44:14), and people from all over the earth also came to buy food from Joseph because the famine was so severe (Gen 41:54-57). Thus, one aspect of the dream was fulfilled.
